WINSTON GROOM is the author of, among other books, ForrestGump, Conversations with the Enemy (Pulitzer Prize finalist), Shiloh 1862, and TheGenerals. He served in Vietnam with the Fourth Infantry Division and lives in PointClear, Alabama.
